The CHS Alliance was formed by the merger of HAP International and People In Aid and is the result of an effort to harmonise standards in the humanitarian and development sector. The Alliance leads on the management and promotion of the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), which provides a common framework for affected populations, humanitarian organisations, governments, and the private sector to jointly clarify expectations and identify complementarities in their work with communities and people affected by crisis. The Alliance has over 240 members headquartered in 55 countries, all of whom have committed to applying the CHS in their work.
