How does GM remain relevant in the age of Global Flexibility?
Writing in a RES Forum research paper from last year, Stephen Fogarty argued that the name 'Global Mobility' is dated. Our paper posited that Global Mobility and Talent Management were two sides of the same coin. Stephen, co-founder and executive researcher at Scalrr, disagreed.
"The reality is that the current landscape is changing fast, and GM teams need to adapt and expand their footprint to manage a larger piece of the talent management puzzle."
"In today’s world," Stephen said, "it's more about FLEXIBILITY than MOBILITY."
Since Stephen wrote his piece, we've taken the opportunity to explore the world of global workforce management as it might be in 2030.
What we discovered is an increasingly diverse, dispersed and multigenerational workforce. Flexibility will certainly be critical. As will an understanding of and appreciation for new ways of working and new expectations from a much-changed workforce who will need to learn how they can work together.
Join us at Wolt Enterprises in Helsinki on the 8th of May to find out what this means for you and your international colleagues.
Registration is open to in-house HR and GM professionals looking to keep pace with the ever-changing, and always-challenging, world of international and cross-border work.
With a lineup of industry leaders offering their own unique perspectives, as well as opportunities for debate and networking, this event is not to be missed.
