Family-first mobility.
Exploring a modern, family-centered approach to global relocation and international work
November the 20th is World Children’s Day. It is also the 35th birthday of the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Convention on the Rights of the Child has become the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history and has helped transform children's lives around the world. International migration is a life-changing experience for everyone involved, especially for children.
In the field of international relocations, there is much room for improvement when it comes to supporting successful family relocation experiences. Which is surprising, as our research (Expat Children and their role in successful mobility) shows that, by caring for accompanying family members, you reduce the risk of assignment refusal and breakdowns. At the same time, it builds positive brand awareness both internally and externally, improving loyalty and helping attract the very best candidates. What’s more, employee wellbeing and the employee experience are both elevated.
On World Children’s Day, the RES Forum invites in-house Relocation Professionals for a day of inspiration, learning, and overcoming obstacles towards successful family relocation experiences.
This unique event, in association with SilverDoor, will take place in The Hague, at the Voerman Group HQ.

Children are welcome too!
We understand that Wednesday afternoon is a part-time working day for many relocation professionals that are also parents of school-aged children. Therefore, the doors of this event are
wide open for your children too! While you meet with like-hearted professionals for an afternoon of learning, your children will become Global Mobility Experts for the day. They will have an exciting tour through the massive Voerman Warehouse and participate in a live coloring artwork of the biggest “My Bigger Picture” coloring poster the world has ever seen (drawn by Idris van Heffen, Expat Valley’s Art Director) and colored by your children on the windows of the Voerman Office. We’ll make sure your child is supervised, has access to drinks and snacks, and has fun! On their way home, they receive a cool goodie bag of Family Relocation products.
